Teen Challenge Statement of Purpose:
"To evangelize people who have life controlling problems, and to initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in Society, applying spiritually motivated Biblical principles to relationships in the family, local church, chosen vocation and the community. Teen Challenge endeavors to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive."

Teen Challenge is a Christian ministry to help people with life-controlling problems such as, but not limited to, alcohol and drug abuse. The program is based on 4 Basic Principles. Teen Challenge has over 195 centers in the United States and 550 centers world-wide. This home page has specific information about Teen Challenge of Greater Cleveland, Inc. We have a residential program for men. Our facilities are located in Perry, Ohio, about 35 miles east of downtown Cleveland (scroll down to see a map). The entrance cost is $500.00 (Induction & medical fee). We can accomodate up to 45 men ages 18 and over (we occasionally also work with 16 or 17 year olds). In our program we seek to teach men the basic skills necessary to lead a victorious Christian life (free from addiction, free to serve the living God).

Our long-term residential program is divided into two phases:

1.) The Basic Induction Phase, at Perry, Ohio, which normally lasts from 4 to 6 months;

2.) The Advanced Training Phase, either at Mid-America Teen Challenge, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri (for 10 months), or at "The Farm" (the first Teen Challenge Training Center) in Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania (for 8 months). In order to be considered a graduate of Teen Challenge of Greater Cleveland, a student (resident) must complete both the Basic Induction Phase and the Advanced Training Phase.
