I am Tadatsune, a Samurai. It is my honor to be part of Sir Koga Yoshitsune's Household and also a member of Clan Yama Kaminari We are living in the current middle ages, recreating pre 16th century Arts, Sciences and Combat within theThe Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) I am a Squire to Sir Koga Yoshitsune and proudly display his mon.
I call the Canton of Aschehyrst in the Barony of Carolingia in the East Kingdom my home. So, I try to make it to events within a few hours of Boston, MA.
I have embraced the Islands of Japan and I am learning about Bushi(Samurai), Armoring, Leather Working, Tea Ceremonies (cha), Taiko Drums, Kyudo(Japanese Archery), Bushido, Buddhism, Zen, Naginata, and Katana martial weapon styles (SCA styles).
I participate with SCA Baronies of Carolingia and Concordia of the Snows in the East Kingdom. I also have had loads of fun with Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands and Rhydderich Hael in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc. I have ventured to the far off Pennsic War and found thousands of friendly people having a great time in a very unique atmosphere. I have also ventured to the Great Northeastern War in my childhood home of Malagentia. I also traveled to the Kingdom Crusades and met many Atlantian nobles. My Family
My lady is known as Kiku and is an avid seamstress. She enjoys shooting people with arrows. I believe the thing she enjoys most about the SCA is spending time with all the really great people she meets.
Sometimes my daughter Kotori joins me at events. She has been awarded the Snow Hare by the Barony of Concordia of the Snows. Recently she has decided to create her new viking persona Freya Tadadottir.

KUDOS to Kiku!!
EDIT: 6 Years later and I am still exceptionally grateful to Kiku and her efforts to keep me clothed.
How do I look so spiffy for a nearly new SCAdian (Ice Dragon Jan 2001 was my first event)? Thanks to Kiku I have a very nice Japanese garb collection. And, she keeps it growing all the time! I really should learn how to make a Kariginu, although I have mostly made a Hakama. You can see Kiku beside me in the combat archery picture. I have the mostly white lacing and she has the mostly red lacing. Or, below when we were relaxing at War of Roses. There is also a picture of Sir Ogami's coat of many colors. Each piece of silk was given by one of his retainers or house members. The lined Kimono was put together by Kiku, Haname, and Kagehira and presented to Sir Ogami at his 20th Anniversary party.
