This Mk III Supra was bought in June of 1996 from Laurel Jaguar/Toyota in Laurel, MD with about 70K miles on the clock. The car had been driven by one of the salesmen since new, so had never been registered privately. This was my second Mk III, the first being a 1986.5 that was very much less than spectacular.
The new Supra became my daily driver, without any major modifications until May of last year when I was rearended by a semi near Baltimore. Luckily, the accident happened at low speed in rush hour traffic, but even then the damage was significant.
Now with 194K on the odometer, I decided to completely overhaul the car, and change its place in my life from daily driver to weekend warrior. Over the next couple of pages, you will see what the car was, what it looked like after the wreck, and how it has progressed through the full body and mechanical rebuild.
