RESONATOR GUITAR

According to the Gruhn's guide, Norwood Chimes is a Californian house brand of Dobro, making this guitar a 100% pre-40's Californian Dobro. Is is not in original condition ( newer cone, refinished and non-original tuners) but I think this is quite acceptable for an instrument which has spent 60 years on several continents.

It is my only resonator instrument and the reason I purchased it is mainly its powerful and beautiful tone.It really seems to play itself when it is in A tuning. Makes you feel like an instant old bluesman. Without the hard life.

I think this was the original finish. As you can see, this really is a beautifully , woman-like, rounded back.

My favourite sight: the logo! This is quite rare to be seduced by a logo but this one seems to be hand made and invites you to play music so nicely. And the back colour is so buttery; like an old telly. A really beautiful instrument!
