Beyond Bodywork...

Virtually everyone can benefit from massage therapy. Of course, it helps you relax and improves circulatory system function—but did you know that it also improves the function of the lymphatic system? This system is responsible for immunity, so massage directly influences and helps us ward off disease.

Many people deal with pain in their daily lives. Therapeutic massage and Cranial Release, when paired together, may greatly reduce the sensation of pain through the release of endorphins, release of lactic acid and fascia surrounding all muscles in the body, and increased venous flow (which sends more blood to the tissues). This is especially important for conditions like Fibromyalgia, in which the body produces lactic acid continuously—which embeds itself in the muscles and creates trigger points. People suffering from headaches/migraines, neck/shoulder/back pain, and many other health conditions can benefit from massage therapy.

Athletes and physically active people also greatly benefit from massage therapy, as it helps them train/perform longer and with less chance of injury. Kneading strokes mimic the contraction and relaxation of muscles, helping them gain greater tone. Many professional athletes, like Lance Armstrong, have added massage therapy to their training programs.

It is my hope that through education and the practice of massage, more people will begin to feel much-needed relief and enhanced well-being. My work is truly my passion, and it is my intention to share it with as many patients and clients as I can—to make a difference in their lives. I have seen for myself how massage can change lives, as I became a massage therapist after recovering from a serious back injury with the help of a skilled therapist. That experience has shaped the practitioner that I have become, and I empathize with anyone who suffers from chronic pain and illness.

In my office, I offer many different types of massage customized for the individual client/patient. I have been trained and have experience performing: Relaxation (Swedish) massage, Therapeutic (Deep Tissue) massage, Hot Stone massage,  and Medical Massage. I am the only Certified Cranial Release Practitioner in Highlands County.  I also have the ability to bill auto insurance for patients recovering from accidents—with a physician’s prescription.

My office is located at 813 US 27 South in Sebring, just south of Sonny’s BBQ. For more information, please click on the Contact Information link in the left column of this page.

I look forward to working with you!
