CORINNE ORR
Actress and Voiceover Artist

BIOGRAPHY

Corinne was born in Montreal, Quebec in Canada. She became involved in Children's Theatre beginning at the age of 10 where she started to develop her repertoire of voices.

By the age of 14, Corinne was working with the Montreal Repertory Theatre and Montreal's Mountain Playhouse ensemble, acting alongside such notables as Barry Morse (The Fugitive), Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music), and William Shatner (Star Trek) in productions like Noel Coward's Dinner at Eight. With her solid background on the stage, Corinne soon landed work on the CBC radio in such dramas as Laura Limited, and was then hired to CBC television to portray the character of 'Suzie Mouse' on the children's soap opera Chez Helene, a bilingual program devoted to teaching children English and French. Corinne Orr and Robert Goulet were by then the two single highest paid performers on CBC.

With such notable successes under her belt, Corinne made the move to New York City. Living for a time in the famed Barbizon Hotel for Women, Corinne began working regularly on radio, television, and as a voice artist. One of her first jobs was a continuing role on the daytime soap opera The Nurses. She also began her lucrative career as spokesperson for a variety of companies in a wide range of radio and television commercials. She also dubbed foreign films into English and, since she is a multi-voiced talent, she is in demand in the cartoon world.

Corinne's animation credits include Star Blazers ('Nova'), Ultraman, and Marine Boy, voicing the characters of 'Marine Boy', 'Neptina', and 'Cli-Cli'. She also voiced the classic Speed Racer series, in which she portrayed and forever immortalized the trademark voices of 'Trixie', 'Spritle', and all the rest of the female characters. In addition to commercials and cartoons, she narrates children's stories, has provided voices for several dolls, and records books on tape. For fifteen years, she was the voice of 'Snuggles the Bear' for the fabric softener in their commercials, and continues to work in such series as the Disney show PB&J Otter where she portrays 'Wanda Raccoon' and 'Shirley Duck.'

Highly regarded in her field, Corinne is sought after, both professionally and by fans. In recent years, the continuing popularity of Speed Racer and her other animated work has led to convention, comic book show, and animated festival appearances. She often appears with Speed Racer co-star Peter Fernandez, speaking to the fans, answering questions, and signing autographs for one and all.

Corinne has also been a member of the Actors' Guild for more than a dozen years and also serves on the Guild Council. The Guild provides assistance to those in need within the performing arts community without regard to religious belief, gender, or sexual orientation. She has volunteered at New York Hospital with AIDS babies, taught voice-over courses, regularly read to the homeless, and was a judge of the Emmy Awards for 18 years. She's always believed in giving back to the business that has been so good to her.
