Galadriel and Nenya
Cate Blanchette, Galadriel, Queen of the Golden Wood
Born May 14, 1969 in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia)
Cate Blanchette has a down-to-earth, yet somehow magically charged Sol in Taurus, in a perfect trine with Jupiter in the third decan of Virgo. Jupiter is in a conjunction with Pluto and Uranus. Her Moon is in Aries, and may be in conjunction with her Venus and Chiron depending on her birth time information. It is very important to recognize the importance Tolkien placed on the arrangement of these planetary intelligences.
Corona Borealis - Taurus Decanate of Virgo
Corona Borealis is the northern crown that represents the last decanate of the northern signs of spring and summer. The sacrifices and efforts required to complete work for a good cause can make this the crown of thorns. This Taurus Decanate of Virgo ruled by Venus may be called upon to rise to a higher sense of love. Choosing one's duty can mean giving up other pursuits that might be more pleasurable. The keyword is Renunciation.
The king's ring not only marked him as the monarch, but the ring could be said to possess power in itself. Often, in the absence of the king, the ring or the ring's seal could be used to carry the full authority of the ruler. In such as way, the king might make a proclamation over all his lands, or delegate authority to his servants and subjects.
These rings of authority were made in many forms. Most often they were signet rings inscribed or marked with the symbol and name of their master on fixed seals of stone, crystal, amber or even hard gems. These could then make the mark of the king's seal with ink, or on wax or clay?
Tolkien described the
Númenóreans of Gondor as, proud, peculiar, and archaic, and I think [they] are best pictured in (say) Egyptian terms. In many ways they resembled Egyptians the love of, and power to construct, the gigantic and massive. And their great interest in ancestry and in tombs. (But not of course in theology: in which respect they were Hebraic and even more puritan.)"
-David Day, TOLKIEN'S RING [Illustrated by Alan Lee]
Moses, Aaron, and we assume Miriam, all wore magic rings before, during, and after the Exodus. The staff of Moses and rod of Aaron certainly compared to the Middle-earth equivalents carried by Gandalf, and possibly the [opal?] staff wielded by Saruman. The tradition extends to engraving stones and metal bands, inscribing, writing transferring ancient symbols that were engraved on armor, swords, helmets, and embroidered into garments worn into battle. Review WETA Workshop historical documentation for the Númenóreans, Elves, and Dwarves. However we know the ancient rings, ceremonial power tools, and seals of David, Solomon, and all the descendants of the House of David were carried faithfully through the centuries, well into the time of the Roman occupations. Heraldry, alchemical, and Masonic symbols continue to be employed for jewelry, medals, and ornamentation that is popular today. see

Nerwen is Galadriel's mother-name, the name given
by her mother.
It means "man-maiden," in reference to Galadriel's unusual height and strength, perhaps a parallel with the Goddess Pallas Athena, personification of collective consciousness as a whole community, life in harmony, a self-sufficient and trade rich city. Her Roman name, Minerva, also refers to wisdom, weaving, and the practical olive tree [agriculture.]
The common syllable, 'ner,' appears in Minerva and Nerwen. Tolkien allocates to 'Nerwen' both 'ner,' "man" and 'wen' meaning "maiden." Perhaps this reference helped inspire Peter Jackson's version of Galadriel's temptation scene in, The Fellowship of the Ring. When the time of the three rings passed, Nenya sailed into the West with Galadriel.
