The Federation charter of 2161 established a unified fleet of the founding members of Earth, Vulcan, Andor, Tellar and Alpha Centauri. Starfleet (named after the Terran component) would eventually have unified crews as well but this process takes time as all members must get used to working for the larger picture rather than their homeworld alone. The Daedalus Class was the first to be commissioned for the new Starfleet, few in number at first, they would pave the way for future explorers Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janewway.

The Romulan War established the Neutral Zone prohibiting crossing each other's territory or face the prospect of war. The Klingons continued to be a threat.

USS Hunter senior staff

Ranks were very basic until Kirk's five-year mission. Admirals had a single 2-inch ring on both sleeves. Officers (including the captain)had a single one-half inch ring on both sleeves. Enlisted had no rings. The ranks displayed below for the crew uses the Kirk era rings in order to tell what rank they are. All below officers actually have just the one ring.

All starships had their unique insignia, worn on the right breast of their uniform shirt. The Hunter's insignia was a vertical ellipse.

Departments colors were not the traditional gold (Command), Blue (Sciences) and Red (Services) that were featured in the five-year mission. During Pike's tour as well as early period of Kirk's tour, Tan was used to represent Services. Only three early episodes have this color before being replaced. As this is before Kirk and even Pike, I've decided to use the tan as well. Pike's laser is the standard sidearm.

Has served on several class of ships including the NX and Surak. She is familar with the warp six engine better than most and was part of the wider team on the Daedalus Project. She served on the SS Al Iskandariyah during the Romulan War.

Is responsible for maintaining both tactical and interior security protocols. 'Ship's Corporal'. Served aboard the SS Victory during the Romulan War. Brother Nathan killed in the Battle of Gamma Hydra.

Is a xeno-biologist in her own right. One of the few to have hands on study of a Klingon autopsy. A caring woman who puts the lives of her patients first and will even treat a Klingon enemy if she can save him. Served aboard the SS Excalibur with Williams during the Romulan War.

A gifted scientist with degrees from several of Earth's leading universities. As part of the unified Starfleet, has attended the Vulcan Science Academy. Served on SS Montreal during Romulan War.

An extreme sport euthusist who once had a Denebian slime devil as a pet. His childhood involved moving from place to place. He is a post-war officer and has attended refresher courses at the new UFP Starfleet Academy
