| The Model Railroad WebRing is devoted to all Model Railroaders who wish to share information with others in the hobby. There is so much knowledge from which many hobbyists can learn whether they are novices or experienced modelers. The only criteria is that your site is about model railroading and you have information that you believe others can use. Many of the sites in this ring are sites that we also enjoy visiting repeatedly. Read the guidelines first before you submit your site. |
| In many ways, the server-side navigation bar is
similar to the old HTML fragment that was used in the old WebRing system. It has the same
links, and it will navigate you through the Ring. The server-side navigation bar (SSNB) is
served by |

| if the RingMaster makes changes to it, the site owner does not have to do anything. Whenever a RingMaster makes a change, it will automatically show up on each members' SSNB. |

| Another advantage is you only have to paste the HTML code once. Each Ring
you belong to will display the correct navigation bar on your page. Just go to the WebRing home page, click edit rings, and you're all
set. You will need the ring ID, your site ID, and password. A word of caution, however. The
HTML code must appear on the page that you register or it will NOT work correctly.
If your site uses a redirect or entry page, registering those URL's will result in
your site being rejected or simply not being added. Once visiting your site,
the visitor MUST be able to return to the ring. The SSNB is a Javascript
code. If placed within a page that open with Javascript, the ring checker
will always reject it. That will require manual checking. Installing the HTML code is easy. Use the Get Nav Bar link on the My Rings page. Copy the code in the text box at the bottom of the page and paste it into the web page you registered with the system. You only need to cut and paste the code once, even if you join multiple Rings. One code fragment will serve the navigation bars for all the Rings you belong to that are registered. If the SSNB does not appear, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
