About EZFIND32
EZFIND32 is a useful and easy-to-use WINDOWS file/directory searching
utility created to address the needs of PC (personal computer) users and
administrators, and software developers. It offers a comprehensive set of
features for searching files/directories on all storage units (floppy disks,
hard drives, CD ROMs, networked drives, etc.) that are installed/shared on the
PC. The files are searched based on the criteria provided by the user via a GUI (Graphical User Interface).

EZFIND32
Features
EZFIND32 offers the below features:
-Find file(s) based on a file
pattern or exact/partial file name recursively or non-recursively. That is,
EZFIND32 can be instructed to look for files based on the user’s input criteria
in a single directory, sub-directories of a directory, an entire hard disk, or
all the hard drives/storage media installed on the computer.
- EZFIND32
also offers the below criterria to further narrow down searches of a specific
set of files or single file.
*File date--the exact date, before/after a date, or a date
range. *File time--the exact time, before/after a time, or a time
range. *File size--the exact size, less than/less than or equal to a size,
greater than/greater than or equal to a size, or a range of file sizes. *File
attributes--Archive, Hidden, Normal, Read-Only, and System file attributes can
be combined logically. A user can find a file/files based on any combination of
the attributes, for example, only system or hidden files, or files that have
both the Hidden and System attributes. *File contents--finding/matching a
phrase or words in a file. This feature offers even more, that is, the ability
to search/match a sequence of binary data specified by the user!
-The
ability to search recursively/non--reccursively within one storage medium or
across all installed storage media, for example, hard disks, CD ROMs,
etc.
-The ability to start/stop a search anytime with different
criteria.
-The ability to specify the action(s) to be done on the
file(s) and directories found based on the search criteria. The actions are not
performed directly by EZFIND32, but rather a batch file is generated for the
user to run later. An output text file is also generated with simple
descriptions of each file matched by EZFIND32. The user can view the output and
batch files at will after a search.
-The ability to specify the output
and batch file names besides the default names.
Advanced
features
*Verbose flag--turn on with a simple click to have
EZFIND32 output simple statistics of the files found and directories
visited. *Step execution--turn on with a simple click to have EZFIND32 insert
the ‘pause’ DOS command between commands. This way, when executing the batch
file, the user has full control of the execution, for example, early termination
of the batch file execution by the user BEFORE the action is to be done on a
file. *Setting of environment variables--either changing or updating into the
generated batch file for convenience. This way, the batch file is more
self-contained during its execution and does not require the user to set up
appropriate environment before executing the batch file.
-EZFIND32 is
non-destructive to files that it finds. It is the responsibility of the user
to take appropriate action on the files found by EZFIND32. This is for security
reason.
-EZFIND32 works with English and other languages that use no
more than one byte to represent a character, that is, languages like French and
Spanish. This software does not support multi-byte languages, for example, the
Asian languages, Chinese, Japanese, etc.
-A user-friendly and informative
GUI (graphical user interface) to help the user formulate
a search.
