| Kanchipuram which is also called Temple Town of South India. Kanchipuram town is full of temples some of which are about 1600-1700 years old. This town is also famous for its Silk Weaving Industries. Kanchipuram is also the base of Sri Kamakoti Peetam which is headed by Sri Sankaracharya. List of some of the important temples to be seen at Kanchipuram are. 1)Kanchi Kamakshi Amman Temple. 2)Ulagalandar Temple - dedicated to Vamana Avatar. 3) Ekabeswarar Temple 4) Kumara Kottam - dedicated to Lord Murugan. 5) Kachabeswarar Temple 6) Sri Kailasanathar Temple 7) Sri Vijayaraghava Perumal Temple 8) Jain Temple All the Photographs in this page pertains to my visit to Kanchipuram on November 19, 2002. |
