| Am I capable of doing this mod without screwing up my detector & with the quality of workmanship I want? This is question you must ask your self before doing anything to your detector. Some of the mods like not getting your V-clip on straight are not to serious but can affect it's resale value & how you feel about your detector & yourself. If everytime you pick up your unit it reminds you that its screwed up & you did it its not a good thing. Other mistakes can be more serious & can damage your detector to a point where it doesnt work . What I'm trying to say is if youve never soldered on electronics before don't practice on your Sovereign. If you have any doubts about your abilities seek help from a techy friend or a professional . Electronics shops are everywhere these days & most will have a friendly tech that may do the tricky stuff for you for free or a few bucks. . Or if your determined to do it yourself, tear an old radio or other device apart & practice on it until you have the skill & confidence to proceed. These mods can improve the performance of your Sovereign & make it more user friendly but can also ruin a perfectly good detector..USE YOUR HEAD... wildherre |
