The South Road School Music Program is designed to guide students through the complex stages of learning:

 

ÿ         Experience: Listening, Singing, Moving, and Performing

 

ÿ        Knowledge: Bring the experience to a conscious level

 

ÿ         Understanding: The ability to apply knowledge to new situations

 

ÿ         Appreciation: The use of understanding to aesthetically evaluate musical experiences

 

 

 

 

The purpose of music education is to develop the innate musical responsiveness of every individual to the highest possible level, and to nurture and develop the individualís potential for aesthetic experience.
