Our club is devoted to the restoration and preservation of antique gas engines and related items. These engines were used to power sawmills, water pumps, cider mills and even washing machine and butter churns. Gas engines were manufactured and used by farmers during the late 19th and early 20th century. Most companies stopped making these engines during World War II and after the war, farmers used newer technology to perform their work. These engines are in important part of the farming heritage in this area and we feel a responsibility to help the public understand how are parents, grand parents and great-grandparents worked and lived.
