Welcome to Ultra-Game & Watch, The website which is devoted to the early Nintendo handheld games called Game & Watch. The creater of the Nintendo Game & Watches was Gunpei Yokoi, who released his first Game & Watch on April 28th 1980 called Ball. Throughout the 80's this hand held toy series became a phenomenon all over the world. From the years 1980-1992 a total of 59 official Game & Watches have been released by Nintendo Co. Ltd. You can catergorize all of the different Game & Watches into 10 different series + 1 special version.. The series were: Silver series(1980), Gold(1981), Widescreen(1981-1982), Multi-screen(1982-1989), TableTop(1983), Panaroma(1983-1984), New Wide screen(1982-1991), Super color(1984), Micro Vs.(1984), Crystal Screen(1986), and Special(1987). Throughout the years Nintendo stoped releasing Game & Watches and instead started to develop the GameBoy. Nintedo though has not forgotten its Game & Watch history. They have released updated versions of the game and watch for the GameBoy systems,(Gameboy, color, and advance) The newest being Game & Watch gallery 4). Also released in 1997 were 14 different mini Game & Watch keychains. |
