| CALL TO ARTISTS: This CALL TO ARTISTS seeks work in any medium including, but not limited to: textiles, wood, sculpture, glass, photography, poetry/prose, clay, and paintings. Artists must interpret Transformation, with beads a prominent design element. CALENDAR September 1, 2008: Digital/Slide images deadline November, 1 2008: Notification January 2009: Work due from artists February 2009: Transformation opens April 2009: Transformation closes Early May 2009: Return/Pickup work Gallery Space: Pittsburgh Center for the Arts 6300 5th Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 REQUIREMENTS A complete packet must include the following: • Description of piece, including technique, material, size. • Written interpretation of Transformation for each piece • Artist Statement (no resumes) • SASE with sufficient postage for return of material (no material returned without sufficient postage) • Include postcard to indicate receipt of material Digital images preferred. Slides accepted. DIGITAL IMAGE INSTRUCTIONS: Label each image: Last Name.Title of Work.Dimensions.Overall (Or Detail) File: Save as .TIF Resolution: 180 Image Size: Digital images should be closely cropped with the image itself no larger than 6” on the longest dimension. Image: One (1) overall and one (1) detail for each piece. SLIDE INSTRUCTIONS: Label each slide: Last name, Title, Dimension. Dot or arrow indicating top of slide. Image: One (1) overall and one (1) detail (if available) for each piece. ENTRY FEE $20 for up to 3 entries, plus $5 for each additional entry. Entry fee non-refundable. Payable by money order to Bloomfield Garfield Corporation (no cash or personal checks). LIABILITY Each work will be insured while on premises. Artists responsible for insuring work in transit to and from gallery space. Artists must include postage sufficient to return work. SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS will be provided to accepted entrants. No entry will be hung unless accompanied by prepaid return shipping label. No stamps or personal checks will be accepted for return shipping fees.
