I started this site because when I developed an interest in soapmaking, I couldn't find a lot of information for the newbie, and I spent a year, looking for fun and easy soap recipes. I bought the books and did the internet searches. The two biggest problems I ran into were scent combinations and safety concerns. A lot of the recipes I found called for the use of lye. My then seven year old daughter wanted to make soap with me, so you can see the concern I had with this. I have since learned from many "Pro" soapmakers, that "NO LYE, NO SOAP".

But don't despair, those of us who want "safe" soap recipes, because we are working with kids or are simply new to the craft can still join in on the fun/addiction. It is called melt and pour. You don't have to stop there either, not only are there a ton of fun melt and pour recipes, but there are also a lot of great other cosmetic recipes available too. |

This site is for both the pro and the newbie soapmakers. It is my hope the the experienced soapmakers will leave tips, recipes and words of wisdom. No matter your soap experience, I invite you to e-mail your soap recipes (both lye and melt and pour) recipes for bath salts, fizzes, etc., book reviews, packaging ideas and to share your experiences, both good and bad. |

I will try to answer the questions, but this is a hobby site. I will look into how difficult it is to add a message board to post and answer questions. Please be patient with me on this.
