ICE-CUBE MAKERS

THE "CONTINUOUS FLOW" SYSTEM A pump circulates the water and pours it continuously onto an inclined freezing plate element. At each passage a layer of ice is formed, which gradually increases and?remains crystal clear?(fig. 1). When a required thickness has been reached, the ice layer automatically slides onto electrically heated grid ( fig. 2). The relatively high temperature of the grid together with the weight of the ice itself cause the ice layerà to be cut to small ice-cubes of about 25x25x13mm, which fall into a container below ( fig. 3). Icecube production continues until the storage compartment is filled, at which point  a thermostatà interrupts the ice forming process. The low temperature in the storage compartment keeps the ice-cubes clear, separate and free of frost.
