Welcome to the SMS Rallysport Homepage! Thanks for stopping by to
learn a little more about rally and us. If you have questions,
please feel free to email
us.
SMS Rallysport is an US Divisional Performance Rally team based
out of Trempealeau, WI. We are part of the Land O' Lakes Region.
We compete in a 1986 Dodge Omni GLH built to Group 5 Rally
specifications.
If you're bored, check out our new Travel Log. It's pretty
darn cool. It's basically going to be a chronicle of the crazy and fun places the SMS Rallysport
team goes.

May 19th, 2005
So Headwaters pretty much sucked (and not in a good way).
The Omni ran like a big pile of turd and was misfiring most
of the 1st and 2nd stages. We're not totally sure what's
wrong with it. It might have a short in the injector harness
or the Hall-Effect Pickup may be bad as well. We'll swap
both and see if that helps. We managed 18th Overall and 3rd
in class. One word...disappointing. Oh well, we had fun and
got to through back a few 1812's after the event. The next
event is Shooting Star on July 9th. Get off your ass and come
out and see us. Who knows what we'll be doing! Oh...we've got
merch on the way soon...we promise. Uh...other than that...things
are about the same. Allie is good. Oh, one more thing. Mark
Utecht will be co-driving at Shooting Star. Even more reason
to get off your ass and come out. Stacy will be at service the
whole time signing autographs and posing for pictures with
fans. Here's your big chance to meet her!!! Anyway, gotta run
and eat some ice cream.

March 23rd, 2005
Tomorrow, The Big Wu is playing at Rascal's in Winona. We're
going. It should be a blast. We haven't seen them play since
the Taste of Minnesota festival a couple years ago. Anyway,
the Omni is doing well and is on its way to working again.
The off-season has been a busy one. We had to order a new
turbo and the guys at Forward Motion built us a killer
custom Enforcer II turbo. It should mate up real nice with
our current setup. We also sent the struts/shocks out to
be rebuilt. The suspension should be worlds better than it
was last year. We are also in the process of cleaning the
car up and may repaint it if we get time. This season should
be a great one for us.
Other than that...things are pretty normal. Stacy and I are
enjoying work and just trying to get through winter so we
can get to work on the SMS HQ and the Omni. It's been rough
working in the shop all winter. We definitely need better
insulation and a better heat source.
Well, that's about all for now. We'll try and update this
before the Headwaters Rally on May 14th.

November 30th, 2004
Wow...it's the end of November already. Where does the time
go? The 2004 season is over and we have great news for
all of our fans. Stacy finished the season in 1st Place in
the Land O'Lakes Region and 1st Place in the Central Division
for Group 5 Co-Drivers. Dave managed to finish in 1st Place
in the Land O'Lakes Region and 2nd Place in the Central
Division for Group 5 Drivers. We are so excitied with our
results this season and we can't wait to get out and do
even better next year. There is a lot of work to be done
on the car in the off-season and this means we need
sponsors more than ever. If you are interested in seeing
your name on the side of the car, please contact us
and we can discuss various sponsorship packages.
Some interesting things have happened this year. As of
December 31st, 2004, the SCCA will no longer sanction
any performance rally events.
Rally America will be taking over the
sanctioning duties for next season. There will be some
changes, however, we should still be able to run our
Omni in Group 5. We are behind Rally America 100% and we
thank the many people involved for "stepping up
to the plate" to save rallying in the United States.
That's about all for now. We'll try and keep everyone posted on
our progress in the off-season getting the car ready for 2005.
Thank you to all of our fans for your support and encouragement.
