The Prince Gallitzin Chapel House was built in 1834 by Prince Gallitzin and used as his home until his death, May 9, 1840.
The Chapel House still houses many of the Princes' artifacts including a set of vestments which were made from his mother's wedding gown, his chalice, his desk, chairs, glasses, books and many more too numerous to mention here.
There is also a small gift shop which has religious gifts and souvenirs of the Chapel House and the Basilica. Books telling of the life of Prince Gallitzin and the Diocese are also available. Most notably "The Apostle of the Alleghenies" which is the newest biography of the prince-priest and is available for $10.00(paperback) or $20.00(hardback).
The Chapel House is open for tours on work days from 9:00A.M. till 4:00P.M. It is closed most holy days and holidays. During the summer it is open on Sundays also for tours from 1:00P.M. till 5:00P.M.
