The Abaco Barb Youth Project presents:
Booth Fundraiser
at the 18th annual Peach Festival
Wyoming DE![]()
Starring Megan H. (age 12), Amanda B. (age 12), Samantha G. (age 13), and Rebecca (?) (age 14).
Well deserved kudos to four young ladies who put together a special Fundraiser booth at a local annual Festival. The Peach Festival is held every August in Wyoming Delaware, a small town of about 2500 people, but generally draws between 4000-5000 people each year. The festival originally began as a local orchard's customer appreciation day. Fifer Orchards would have peach ice cream made from their crops only to give it away in the form of free ice cream cones to customers that supported them all year long.
"It's a huge draw for a small town," replied Amanda B., "and you better believe I plan to be a part of it again next year!"

The girls raised $210 alone at the festival for an overall combined net of over $280. Explained Amanda, "The people helping me were my best friend Megan and my other friend Sam along with her cousin Rebecca. Sam and Megan did an outstanding job calling people over to the booth. Rebecca convinced people to buy our raffle tickets. We raffled off a $30 Target gift card, a hand made saddle pad (courtesy of my riding instructor) and a Breyer Abaco Barb horse."
This selfless act of individual generosity & team spirit earned each of our youths a special ABYP Certificate, as well as a shot towards the special Breyer Abaco model drawing!
Nice Job, ladies!
