Sloth drivers are especially common in areas where "Snowbirds" (retirees from snowbelt cities who spend the winter months of each year in warm places like Phoenix or Miami). This gives rise to the term "Slowbirds" as these doddering old Russell Weller wannabes slowly prowl the roads, (unknowingly) in search of their next victims.
Not all sloth drivers are old, however. Some are just arrogant, self-righteous young(er) people who like to play traffic cop and block the passing lane, forcing "those evil speeders" to slow down. But no matter what the cause, the results are the same: carnage and death to innocent motorists and pedestrians, the root cause of which is the slowpoke driver. The worst part is, when these accidents occur, the sloth driver steers slowly and carefully through the wreckage and is long gone before the police arrive. When the official reports are filed, the cause of the collision is listed as "speed-related" - skewing the accident statistics.
It's high time the true cause of all this death and destruction was recognized and dealt with!
