Harrison Twp. EMS, Inc. (HTEMS) is stationed in the village of Philo, Muskingum County, in southeastern Ohio. The squad began as a part of Harrison Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. but then the two split and the squad became incorporated ,thus becoming a seperate intity.
HTEMS is a non-profit organization composed of all volunteer members.The current roster of HTEMS includes 29 members. Of these 4 are paramedics, 8 intermediate, and 11 basic EMTs. The remaining members are our drivers, all of which are trained in AHA CPR. Many of our members also belong to Harrison Twp. or Wayne Twp. Fire Departments
Our coverage area is the largest in Muskingum County with 6 townships. Those include the villages of Philo, Duncan Falls, Gaysport, and Blue Rock.
HTEMS currently operates three ambulances; units 550, 551 and 552. All units are equiped with Basic and Advanced Life Support equipment. Each time the squad rolls there is a minumum of 2 EMT-Basics on board. As part of a county-wide mutal aid agreement, we recieve and provide assistance to surrounding volunteer squad and fire departments when requested.
