Rules
1) This is a real time tournament, meaning all entrants must be able to commit up to 2 hours for each respective tournament.
2) With the exception of the all-star exhibition, this is a TEAM tournament. The open division requires 10 entrants, one of which must be a captain, and another being an assistant to the captain. The guild division must have 10 guild members all having been a part of that guild for at least 1 week to be eligible. Again the guild must submit a tournament captain and assistant to the captain. Rosters are due on June 18th. Each guild will get to submit 2 alternates in the event that a scheduled player cannot make the tournament due to emergency reasons.
3) As this is a real time tournament, the ruling of the Econotorium is final and binding.
4) As the Econotorium is about civility and good will, this tournament expects nothing less in the battles. The most highly regarded warriors have both excellent skills and excellent reputations as human beings. With that said, no flakes, flours or erasers, and no entering fights with above maximum hitpoints. All entrants must agree to be bound by the rules of neopets.com, as always.
5) The team’s entrants will be ranked by idb stats. The top 5 entrants will have respective 1-5 seeds. The bottom 5 entrants per team will be randomized and assigned from slots A-E
6) Scoring: In each battle between teams and guilds, there will be a single battle. Slot 1 from one team will fight the 1 seed from the other team, all the way down. If there is a winner of the fight, all the points go to the winner. A draw ensures a split of the points. See the chart below for a break down of points

There are a total of 130 points at stake. 66 points will win the round for the team.
7) Formatting: The format will consist of both round robin play as well as elimination rounds. IN round robin play it is theoretically possible to draw 65-65. Elimination play will not have draws possible. Any 65-65 ties will go to a sudden death 1 point match between the #1 seeds. The respective seeds will fight as many times as necessary till we have a winner.
8) Expectations: The Econotorium is about learning. If both sides agree, screenshotting battles is welcomed and encouraged. Please screenshot all final rounds to verify winners. If one side does not agree, please do not publish any screenshots of any non-final rounds.
9) Reporting matches. There will be a separate AIM and IRC chatroom for reporting matches. Only the captain and assistant captain will have access to these rooms, and the only conversation taking place will be the reporting of scores. All teams must have one representative in the room (preferably both) at least 5 minutes before the tournament. The representatives will be responsible for passing along to their team their opponents. Each round will last 20 minutes with a 5 minute break between rounds to heal up.
10) Prizes: Prizes involving neopian or real currency are strictly outlawed. Winners will be granted admission into the celebrity all-star tournament. In addition each team captain will receive a small token of our appreciation for participating in this tournament. The celebrities fighting in the all-star tournament are to be determined.
