| Tobermory |
| The Tobermory Distillery currently makes two Single Malt Whiskies; Tobermory and Ledaig. Tobermory Single Malt Whisky is unusual for and island malt, as it distilled from unpeated barley. This is because the island’s water itself has a taste of peat. The water flows through the distillery’s private loch high in the hills, drawing gloriously rich and delicately smoky flavours from the land through which it runs. Distillation is carried out in Tobermory’s uniquely shaped stills. The lyne arms at the neck are so steep that a heavy reflux occurs – therefore condensing only the purest part of the vapour. The whisky itself is fearfully easy to drink and makes an excellent introduction to Single Malt Whiskies from the Scottish Isles. |
