Our Rescue Boxer
Buddy was rescued from a shelter in MS by Louisiana Boxer Rescue. Knowing I had recently lost my 14 1/2 year old Boxer, Devin, Connie Back e-mailed me this old guy's picture. I couldn't believe someone had owned this dog for so long and then just turned him over to a shelter. No one knows for sure just how old he is but he appears to be about 12 going by the amount of gray. Knowing a Boxer his age would not be highly adoptable and missing my old man so much, I decided to give him a home for however long he had left.
Surprisingly, he is very enregetic and other than being underweight, had no health problems. He did have to learn to use the doggy door, but already knew sit, down, and shake hands! Somebody cared for him and trained him which just adds to the mystery of why he was turned in to the shelter. He has a wonderful outgoing temperment and got along with my other two Boxers right away. I opened the door; he took one look around, immediately approved of his new home and made himself comfortable on his new bed!
