Peter Lawford

1923-1984

Peter to me was the most hand-

some and classiest of the Rat

Pack.  He was more like a

prince than a celebrity.  How-

ever life was not at all easy.

His parents fell into poverty

when Peter was very young.

His mother was a domineering

bitch. His career fell to a

slump during the 50's. He felt

guilty when Marilyn Monroe died.

He was disowned by Frank

Sinatra,

and fell into a deep depression when President John F. Kennedy died.

However, Peter had also wonderful successes especially when he was with Rat Pack.  While his friendship with Frank Sinatra went on, they both had a great time.  I don't know if it was right that Frank dropped all communication with Peter Lawford was when President John Kennedy cancelled his trip to Frank's house in Palm Springs in 1962.  I believe the real culprit was Joe Kennedy Sr. who to me was a S.O.B.  Joe Kennedy went down in history as a user and a Jerk.  He might have been powerful and influential, but a real user.  Joe practically made Peter tell Frank that John could not come and Peter then had to take the yelling and harsh screaming from Frank.

Peter Lawford and the S.O.B.

Peter was different from the Rat Pack.  I never got to see Peter when he was alive.  He seems to be a nice person, a quiet person, and very charming.  He loved sports and was an athlete.  Unlike, his Rat Packers, he was a real outdoorsman until he got caught up in drugs.  At least, after Frank's anger towards him, Sammy Davis Jr. stayed to be his friend.  They did movies and partied together.

Peter was the opposite of Frank Sinatra and was really more like Dean Martin, quiet, handsome, and talented.  The really only difference between them, was that Dean had alot of confidence and Peter really was insecure.

After John Kennedy's death, it was sad to  Peter Lawford fell apart.  Year by year, Peter aged horribly, until his death in 1984.  However, Peter years later did try mend his relationship with Frank, but Frank still did not want to talk to him.  Frank was a great guy, but I would have hated to be on his bad side.

Well, I know that in Heaven, Frank has forgiven Peter.  The four Rat Packers are together in Heaven, drinking, gambling, and having a ball.
