History
The Shawnee Lions Club was presented its charter on October 12, 1960. The Olathe Lions Club sponsored the Club. The Shawnee Lions Club became part of District 17 AE, Region Number 3 , Zone 1. The first president of the club was Lion Bob O’Dell, Jr. The first secretary/treasurer was Lion Dale Van Lerberg. It was decided that the Membership meetings would take place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. There was a total of 25 original Lions members. There has been an abundance of leader’s come from the Shawnee Lions Club since 1960. They include the following Past District Governors.
