Powers Irish Coffee Festival 1998

According to the 22 August 1998 edition of the Limerick Leader, this was the seventh time Maureen O'Hara-Blair has returned to the Powers Irish Coffee Festival and blew out candles on her birthday cake.

"I can't believe I am 78 years of age on Monday."   As most fans are aware, Maureen's birthday was 17 August.

Then she went on to relate that she had just finished filming her new made-for-TV movie, "Cab to Canada," which will premiere on Sunday evening,
29 November 1998, at 9:00 EST on CBS.

She took great pride in relating the story of throwing in the ball at Shea Stadium in New York, the home of the New York Mets,  on 5 August 1998 to
raise funds for the rebuilding of a famine ship in Fenit, Co. Kerry.

"I threw the ball," she said demonstrating, "And thank God I threw it straight."
