| All hail the queen! Miss Poland Malgorzata Rozniecka (center) flashes a smile after winning the Miss International crown. Flanking her are Miss Venezuela Aura Zambrano, first runner-up (left) and Miss Russia Tatiana Pavlova (right) second runner-up) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We rooted for her when it was announced that she will eventually be Poland's delegate to Miss Universe. We were dismayed when it was announced that she will not. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In our prediction we put her on the second last thinking she doesn't have that charisma. Our bet was Miss India Kanwal Toor but she eventually settled to be a part of the finalists. Just who is Malgorzata Rozniecka? Well she confessed that she is a model and that she is supposed to represent Poland at Miss Universe at Puerto Rico. Her hectic modeling schedules eventually made her to decide that she will not go and settle for Miss International lately. When our fellow missosologists posted that she will be heading for Miss Universe we promptly said "This is the lady that will eventually bag the crown." She was neatly brunette with a va-va-voom body. Her tight jeans on the Internet picture amplified her aura even further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| But she was not brunette. She dyed it for the Miss Polonia competetion. She is a true, drop dead gorgeous blonde. Many observers at Tokyo were actually not too sold out with her. The observations of missosologists at globalbeauties.com didn't help the matter either. They contend that the Internet pictures of Malgorzata doesn't leave an impression that she is a true and serious contender for the crown. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Malgorzata is of course a woman that every Polish should be proud of. But they this is eventually not a new or a breaking news. Two Agnieckas had already won the crown for their dear old Poland. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| One can clearly see that Malgorazta seems to be a Geena Davis clone. She has strong looks which means she has a strong personality. But what makes her the queen of the night? Undoubtedly, the best answer of the evening belongs to Miss India Kanwal Toor. Last year the delegates were asked on what do they think about the International Goodwill Exchange but this time around they were asked on what shall be her platform should she be crowned as Miss International. Kanwal talked about a major change in her life from being a simple woman into an advocate of peace and harmony. In here, one can clearly see the brilliance in her. "My duty transforms me from a simple girl.....to an ambassador of goodwill" answered Kanwal. The worst answer, based on political considerations, belongs to Miss Chile Paula Orchard. This being Japan her pronouncement of "not just business or commerce" is a faux pas in business-minded Japan. Miss Aruba Daphne Croes seems a little bit eccentric by speaking about the qualities of Miss International and saying that she possesses such. Miss Brazil Fernanda Tinti specified about helping the handicaps while Miss Colombia talks a wide variety of issues which makes her answer too broad. What she was trying trying to say really is to promote education. Miss Dominican Republic Judith Curry didn't go for any specific answer while Miss Israel Dikla Eklabetz has the most genuine answer. The latter insisted for co-existence which is higly applicable to problems that has plagued her country. Miss Japan Hanako Suzuki focused on her native country solely while Miss Korea Myung Hee Baek called for international cultural excahnges. Miss San Marino Marcia Bellesso failed to discuss her answer well and this is equally true with Miss Spain Ayola Carrasco (she talked about social problems but failed to elaborate it). And what about of our eventual winners? Well 2nd runner-up Miss Russia Tatiana Pavlova's best phrase is to tell everyone the "potentials of the pageant." First runner-up Aura Zambrano on the other hand seems to have won the award due to her aura rather than on her answers. This led us to believe that somehow the judges were judging Aura's looks and body and were compelled to put her on this highest possible position since the winner last year was from her country. The eventual winner gave a simple yet politically correct answer. Malgorzata seems to be the right girl, from a right country, in a right nation. She talked about helping the unemployed in her country which is definitely parrallel to the problems of Japan. In a nation of business-minded people suffering from economic doldrums, financial crunches and laid-off workers, Malgorzata answer is definitely an ace! As Vivian Urdaneta, last year's winner from Venezuela placed the crown on her head, Malgorzata's gave a charming smile. Her dear old Poland is perhaps doing the same. |
