| Intro As a self confessed Hitchcock fan, I thought it was about time that I created a site dedicated to what I see as the Master's ultimate masterpiece - Psycho (1960). Not only is it one of the best films ever made; it is, in my opinion, THE best film ever made. As testament to this, I even wrote my AS Film Studies Macro on it! Yes, i know, amazing, isn't it... Read it, and you'll find out just how much I love this film. Psycho's legacy spans 40 years and Hitchcock's shadow can be seen looming over the likes of The Silence Of The Lambs (Jonathan Demme, 1991)and even the Scream trilogy (Wes Craven, 1996),and for that matter, any countless number of dysfunctional movie monsters who stalk their prey. There were also 2 sequels (1983, 1986) and a prequel (1990), none of which were directed by Hitchcock, with Psycho III (1986) marking Anthony Perkins' directorial debut. There was even a short lived series, "Bates Motel" on US cable TV (starring Bud Cort). |
