The Sci Fi Channel Campaign
Earth: Final Conflict was the first Gene Roddenberry production in years, the result of an old script and a few outlining hopes for it. The ethereal Taelons and noble humans in it captured the imaginations of the fans.Mere months ago, the rising Sci Fi Channel purchased the rights to rerun E:FC's first four seasons, and all seasons filmed after that. It is also reported that they were willing to film the fifth and supposedly final season of the show if it were not renewed by Tribune. It was renewed, and fans awaited a dramatic climax to the show. Hopes were high, due to the quality of the fourth season.
Then it was announced that regular Leni Parker would not be returning, and it has been deemed likely that her costars Robert Leeshock and Anita La Selva may be following her. In a move evidently calculated now that Sci Fi had purchased the first four seasons, Tribune was slashing the cast of its three most beloved characters, as well as apparently dropping the tense Taelon plotline in favor of a "new" species of alien that the fans will revile.
Fans are furious, and undoubtedly Sci Fi is as well. Their deal in good faith was deliberately turned sour for financial profit, resulting in a final season that very few will watch.
Is all hope lost?
No it isn't.
This site's creation was to draw EFC fans under a common purpose: To entreat the Sci Fi Channel, upon EFC's impending end, to extend the storyline and repair the damage that has been done to EFC.
Perhaps a TV movie, a miniseries, or perhaps even an added-on-season.
The only requests that we make to Sci Fi on this matter are that:
*Certain characters supposedly killed in the fourth season finale be resurrected: Da'an, Zo'or, and Liam Kincaid, if the actors wish to temporarily resume their roles. (This episode supposedly kills them, but several fans have thought up ways in which they might have survived — via protective shielding and then stasis, or a portal limbo.)
* The Taelon plotline, with their problems and dangers, be concluded in a manner worthy of a Roddenberry series — hopefully reaching a cooperative ending.
We are extremely confident that Sci Fi would do an excellent job, giving unhappy fans the conclusion and consideration that has been so lacking in Tribune Entertainment's dealings.

But there will be no salvation of EFC's excellent plotline and characters if the fans do not make their feelings known. Sci Fi will not undertake this if they do not believe it would be worthwhile and well-received.
So, whatever our feelings on Season Five, we need to let them know what we wish for them to do for the show once EFC's production by Tribune is complete (which won't be long). We need to write in our requests for the cast and storyline.

In addition, there is an online petition for the Sci Fi Channel, in the hopes that our pleas will be heard and seriously considered. Please, if you have not signed the petition do so now.
The Petition: Fix EFC's Mistakes
An additional means of gaining Sci Fi's attention would be a presence at their message boards. I am told that they pay relative attention to the statements made there. If you can, go by the board and speak both of our dissatisfaction and our hopes for the future. Discuss your attachment to the lost characters and reasons for loving the Taelon-human-Jaridian storylines.
And definitely mention Sci Fi hopefully picking up EFC's production.

I strongly encourage people to send hardcopy letters to Sci Fi as well as simply emailing and signing petitions. Letters sent via the mail system are considered more serious and noteworthy than online works. This is not to dissuade anyone from emailing or signing, it is simply a request that if you write, be sure to include at least a short letter.
Be certain to outline why the EFC fans are angry and the ratings are down, and your desire for a TV movie/miniseries/sixth season, with the cast members above returned if the actors wish it. Also show your confidence that Sci Fi would do it well and give a true finale to the series.
As well as sending letters, please also mail in bracelet sized blue silk ribbons, and small containers of blue glitter. Roswell fans were successful in saving their show after using tabasco sauce in such a manner.
These hopes will never materialize unless fans write, email, and post. And I hope most of the fans will.
Godspeed!
