THE FOLLOWING FREQUENCIES ARE PRIMARILY USED IN CHEROKEE COUNTY, ALABAMA. I WILL GIVE A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EACH ONE AND EXACTLY WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO HEAR ON THE FREQUENCY. ENJOY. |
160.065 |
Cherokee County Sheriff's Dept. Repeater output. Dispatch and cars use this. |
155.460 |
Cherokee County Sheriff's Dept. Repeater input. Not much use to the average monitor. |
155.595 |
Cherokee County Sheriff's Dept. "Old County" Used for car to car or car to base when deputies do not want to transmit through the repeater. |
155.040 |
Cherokee County Sheriff's Dept. "Old Cedar Bluff" Used to be the frequency for the town of Cedar Bluff. Used for car-to-car and tactical. you won't hear much here unless you are close to the action. |
155.010 |
North Alabama Net--All bases and cars in northern Alabama have this frequency in their radios. Used to communicate from town-to-town or county-to-county. You will hear a lot of "BOLO's" (be-on look-out for) on this frequency. |
155.475 |
National Net--Similar to North Alabama Net. Cherokee Co. Sheriff will use this for tactical purposes. Marijuana eradication, drug raids, or general BS. |
158.790 |
Alabama State Troopers (BASE)--Jacksonville, AL base More of a "rackett maker" on my scanner. You can hear the base loud and clear, but they may be talking to a car anywhere in N.E. ALA. It's good to program it in, but you will probably keep it locked out most of the time. |
159.030 |
Alabama State Troopers (CARS)--This is a good frequency to keep in your system. This is what the cars use to talk back to the base or talk car-to-car. You will only get traffic here if the cars are close to you. Then, you may want to unlock the "Base" frequency. |
155.220 |
Cherokee County Rescue Squad (Dispatch)--This one is still used some. They do some of their paging now through the new ambulence repeater. I pick up a lot of unwanted traffic on this one and it stays locked out most of the time. |
155.340 |
Rescue H.E.A.R. Network--About the same amount of good as the one above. |
155.355 |
B.M.C. Cherokee--Ambulance and dispatch. Repeater output so you will be able to hear this one really well. You will get the location of incidents and patient's vital signs. |
453.050 |
