SSG Samuel A. Ingram
US ARMY MILITARY POLICE K-9 OFFICER

Hello, and welcome to my little area on the Web. I joined the ARMY right out of high school in August of 1993, and attended INFANTRY basic training / AIT at FT BENNING GA. After basic I was assigned to the 1/9th INF BN at FT LEWIS, WA. In 1996 I realized that being a "hard charging" grunt was fun, but was also a "dead end" as far as my future was concerned. I changed my MOS to 95B, MILITARY POLICE. My first duty station as an MP was in Mannheim, Germany with the 272nd MP CO. I re-enlisted again to go to FT. Huachuca, AZ where I was one of 4 GAME WARDENS and member of the MOUNTED MILITARY POLICE. In 2001 I re-enlisted a third time and finally got what I have wanted, and tried to get for a very long time, K9 school...

OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM
There comes a time when every soldier must face war. All the training and preparation comes into play and it is time to go do your duty for your country. I will not "badmouth" any individual persons or ORGANIZATIONS, but there are a few thing I would like to say, Im sure you VETS know what I am talking about, but that will have to wait. On the ride to Kuait, where the journey starts, there was a Private who was crying and it took every thing in me not to slap him silly and bring him back to reality..I did what every good NCO should do, I talked him down and made him feel like a warrior instead of a titty sucking baby, besides, he was going to Kuwait for a year, NOT Baghdad. After my 12 months in Iraq, after all the crap that happened, I returned home to find out I had Diabetes. The Army is putting me out honorably with a medical discharcge with a whopping 20% and some money. "Have a nice day, thanks for your 12 years!!!". Anyway I will post some pictures and answer some questions that I THINK are appropriate through e-mail. If you wish to do so, feel free. Thank you "Uncle Sam".
This is Dasty, the patrol and explosive detector dog that was my BEST COMPANION the entire time I was in that wretch of a place. He was my best friend... He protected me and kept me from going insane the WHOLE time. Dasty  was the ONLY thing I could TOTALLY trust while I was there. Sometimes he even kept me warm. I could tell Dasty all of my secrets and all of my complaints and I knew they would never go ANYWHERE! Dasty was the best Military Working Dog I ever had.
