This Seward Trailblazers site is set up to provide information on the original Iditarod Trail that started in Seward and ran north to Nome. In this Index you will find a short history of the Historic Iditarod Trail, the Iditarod trail through Seward, how the trail links to our schools and the trail route to Girdwood.

The Trailblazers are a group of volunteers that is locating, building and maintaining the historic Iditarod Trail from Seward to Girdwood, Alaska. Working with state, federal and local agencies we have completed the first 12 miles from Seward to the Snow River!
