Whilst tracing my family tree, I found some of my ancesters were of "ye tribe of ye Gypsies".
I have decided to share the information that I have picked up along the way, which includes many census transcriptions.

My own Family were Grays and Smiths from the Midlands, so I have centred on those areas, but there is much more here, and you never know what you might find as the Rom do travel....... happy hunting!

The owner of ROMANY GENES has put online some 25 years of research, her centre of interest is the Southern Romanies, but there is much much more here, a highly recommended site.
Along the way, many and various people have helped me, in some way or another, to put all this together. I would like to thank them all here, for their various contributions, input, and contact. Most of all Id like to thank the following:
Terence Lee, Sharon Floate, Bob Dawson, Lorenzo Barron, Keith Chandler, and Rosemary Hives.
