Hola Amigitos!! We are Tia Schlaikjer and Brad Herring and as most of you know we are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. We worked in The Republic of Panama for 2 1/2 years teaching Agriculture and Environmental Education. I worked with the Ngabe-Bugle Indians and Brad worked with the Latinos.
For our next adventure we are going on a hike up the eastern seaboard of the United States. The trail we will be traveling is called the Appalachian Trail. This trail was started by a man named Benton MacKaye who had a dream in 1922 to connect the ridge tops of the Appalachian mountains from New England to the south. His dream was completed in 1937 and is now a 2,168 mile footpath that is traveled by over 3,000 people each year.
Dreams shape our world and I am proud to say that Brad and I are dreamers just like Benton MacKaye was.
