At present,
the resources offered are but meager. Therianthropology is a fledgling science,
combining elements of Anthropology, Mythology, Cryptozoology, Parapsychology,
and several studies of a more esoteric nature. Lycanthropology is but one of
the disciplines a Therianthropologist may choose to specialize in, but it is
considerably better accepted by modern society as a genuine science, as the
Lycanthrope, or Werewolf, is by far the most well known "Primal" in
modern "pop" culture.
As we are
not yet able to offer accredited courses, please feel free to avail yourself of
the information already made present. Thus far we provide:
On-Site Resources
A Timeline of
Therianthropy Fiction -- covering a variety of events
considered significant to the origins and development of lycanthropes and other
therianthropes, as found in the realms of fiction.
A Lynx Page, excuse me, Links Page is now available, though it is still
full of dead links.
Therianthropy - A
Pocket History -- well thought-out and researched essay covering
the definition and origin of "Therianthropy", and what it means to be
a "therian" today. Written by Christopher
Rondina
Off-Site
Resources and References:
Therian Terminology – lexicon of
terms often used by the on-line ‘Were Community’. This page is but one of several informative pages on Neserit Luncast’s Lair of the Hidden site
dedicated to Werecreatures, Otherkin, the Occult, Witchcraft, Vampires, the
Fae, etc.
The WIKIPEDIA,
an on-line open content encyclopedia, contains articles regarding Werewolves,
Lycanthropy,
Therianthropy,
and Cryptozoology that are considered REQUIRED
READING for all Therianthropology students. The report on Werewolf:
The Apocalypse may also be of interest to understanding
therianthropic societies as they exist today.
PRIMAL!
The Furry Language - Primal-to-English /
English-to-Primal Dictionary. Strongly
recommended for all students of Therianthropology seeking to extend their
learning past this introductory course. Trickster created the dictionary and tutorial, and
authored the manual for this unique language. Interested parties must install
the PrimalFont to use the Tutorial.
