Amps for Christ
Thorny Path
(Vermiform)
It's really hard to explain this, but it's wacked out awesome, a lot of musical quality and familiar aspects bleeding in of Bastard Noise. It goes into many different directions, it has a strong folk aspect and with all of the equipment being handmade, it has a very distorted sound.  A lot of ideas behind this album are well thought out and executed. Ranges from biblical references to a more philosophical feel. Great!

Bananafish 12 comp
My baby does good sculptures
There is a lot of variety on this comp. As far as noise goes and the definition of noise. Some live, some bashing and clanging like Nihilist Spasm Band; to more laid-back listener friendly, i.e. Monde Bruits, Climax Golden Twins, Stilluppsteypa and Lancu Dumitrescu stand out to me. Also the Mike Boner song 'figure skating dog' is memorable. This comp comes with the zine.

Bastard Noise
The Analysis of Self Destruction
(Alien 8 Recordings)
First of all, this is a top notch and eye appeasing release from Alien 8. With a red foil stamped Bastard Skull on the shit brown gatefold sleeve, yes, gatefold, just like your old Saturday Night Fever record.  The sounds within are nothing to be scoffed at either; this is some of the darkest material I think I've heard produced from Bastard Noise. The thick production helps bring out a lot of apocalyptic imagery and destitution. There are some familiar aspects, such as the chirping, but brought about in a whole new light. All the material is well structured and thought out, and makes for a fine release. Everything comes together so well and so smooth, so for those not familiar or into Bastard Noise's work, this may be the release for you to check out.

Bastard Noise
If It Be Not True
(Vermiform)
This is a 2 CD effort and comes with a cool ass booklet. This is hard to find, but worth the search. Hear the blips and chirps that you have grown to love. Hear the words that speak truth and ask us to look deeper, and change what we can. "Love those that hate you."

Bastard Noise
Mutant
(Manufracture)
First off, this is NOT a tenitus friendly release!  The high end is so incredibly shrill and almost painful, great!  Only 4 tracks but they are lengthy and well worth the purchase.  3 tracks include vocals, both high screams and the gutteral, power violence style.  All tracks have intense power filled urgency within the sounds and structure.

Bizarre Uproar | Bastard Noise
Bizarre Uproar serves up 2 exquisite ambient-like tracks. The first a bit more laid back and calming with static type hiss starting and stopping with quite pauses between. I find it rather relaxing. The next track is a little more involved and very impressive. Sounds as if he's using the same track from the first as an underlying texture and then mixing in more harsh noise. The layering is done very well; the way the separate tracks flow in and out, very clean and thought out. Next up is Bastard Noise with their signature frequency manipulation galore. Whirls, tweets and pulses that seem to be also very well thought out and executed. There are new elements used, but I don't want to ruin the surprise. Both are very respected noise artists and prove why here.

Cock E.S.P. | 4 Flies on Grey Velvet
(Let it Rot)
Well first up is 4 Flies on Grey Velvet with some minimal signal manipulation/experimentation. Pretty much laid back which is unusual for Jason's work, until track 4 and 5. It has a darker feel with a lot of high-end signal squelch and some low end booming, sort of reminiscent of Merzbow. Track # 9 is an all out audio assault. I love this the best, there is a lot going on here. There is a lot of metal smashing/scraping, frequency squelching, and high-end ear blistering action. Cock E.S.P. serves up some excellent electronic destruction. The first track switches back and forth from a sample with lots of reverb that gives it a real dreary sound/feel to high-end static blasts. From there we move on to a more cut and paste super choppy kind of thing, mixing people talking, music and electronic blasts. The other tracks weave in and out of sanity with clips of samples and grinding audio terrorism that can be quite raw at times.

Cock E.S.P. | Brutum Fulmen
3"cd-r
(Gameboy Records)
The 1st track is Cock E.S.P. and from what I’ve heard of his work in the past, this is very different. For one, the track is 4 ˝ minutes long, not 15-30 seconds. And then it’s more of a straight up track, not all cut and paste. This material starts very low-key, but with a lot of activity. Layered minimalism with random tapping and chimes, then around the 2-minute mark, builds up with synth and a drum machine. Brutem Fulmens track is very cold and dark. High-pitched tones, like that of controlled mic feedback with reverb, accompanied with menacing moans from a synth. The 2 mix well and paint a portrait of impending doom.

Contamination Diet
Geiger Counter Blues
(Gauge Records)
Ohio is full of great noise artists and this is no exception. Contamination Diet mixes the need for harsh power and maniacal loops with a splash of vocals for good measure. The quality is very clear and crisp and very up front. There is waiting to get going with this, it's in full swing from the word go. My only regret with this release is that it seems so short, but it does its job of leaving me wanting to hear more.

ERG | MSBR | DSM
Geosynclines
(Flenix)
This release is a collaborative between MSBR (Japan), ERG (USA) and Das Synthetische Mischgewebe (France).  Very diverse in sounds, it flows in and out of silent pauses, to natural sounds to grating electronic bursts.

Expose Your Eyes | The Implicit Order
First up on this disc is Expose Your Eyes, an explosive well-structured college of sound that stretches out 23 minutes long. Grinding and scraping, intense static chaos and layers that build up into a wall of noise then recedes into minimalistic noise. Experimentation with sonic waves and blasts mixed along with tape manipulations and so much more. This is very interesting material.
The Implicit Order is much in the same vein as Expose Your Eyes in the varied sounds and experimentation. This track runs just over 25 minutes long and is filled with rhythmic pulses, tones/drones, tweets, blurbs and some music thrown in for good measure.

Fantomas
Amenaza al Mundo
(Ipecac)
This CD displays excellent musicianship with precise off timing and stop/go power. There are big names involved here, but I'm not going into that cause that isn't what is important here. Experimental can't begin to describe what takes place here but I am sure experimental metal may be rather accurate. Aspects that are involved here are, precision drumming that caters to a jazzy feel, sparse accents and an occasional blast beat here and yon; super thick and dirty monster-like guitar/bass with tone to kill, and intense vocals that sway back and forth following either drum or guitar patterns. There is nothing that is predictable about this album except for the fact that each track is just as good as the last. The dream band has arrived and I urge you to take notice.

Gore Beyond Necropsy
Noise a Go-Go
(Relapse)
Intense Gore/Grind action so amazing, it's easily able to consider it having an experimental edge. Short blasts of undecipherable chaos smothered with decimating vocals and a very powerful anti-cock rock message is to be expected. And with 5 intros, this is like 5 mini albums jam-packed into 1 glorious release. Too bad Relapse doesn't put out more of their stuff; they just don't know what they are missing out on.

Gravitar
You must first learn to draw the real
First of all, for this to be recorded on a 4-track and sound this fucking amazing...is amazing. Drums, guitars with tons of effects and trumpets give life to this darkness emerging. This is well-executed improv, very full and rich, and in my taste, as good as any John Zorn releases. Ranging from laid-back moods of eerie ambiance to violent free form, invoking rage within, on a pulp sort of level. I am in awe of this CD and congratulate the fine person/persons behind it.

Gruntsplatter
The Death Fires
(CCA)
Dark image provoking Power Electronics with soundscapes devoted to misery, grief and an intolerable way of life.  Thick bellowing lows and cascading waves of desperation, this paints a great picture for the end times that are to come.

Hermit Pain
Machine
(Manufracture)
Hermit is a prolific artist with a lot of good work and this release is no different.  Progressing slowly from a rhythmic pumping tone that decays a bit into other layers, adding darker elements.  This track is very laid back with grinding and chirping flowing along in the background.  This is a limited CD-r with only 1 track, but I believe it is suppose to appear later, on another release.

Isolrubin bk
Crash Injury Trauma
(Soleimoon Recordings)
Composed as a quieter style of noise, with a slightly dark feel to it, a lot of ambient quality and a possible twist of techno. All tracks are played with sampled car accidents being the main focus. This is very interesting and really good.

J.T.C.H. | Lockweld
(Heart Plug Records)
High end and treacherous electronic assault is exactly what comes from Japanese Torture Comedy Hour. This is one of the more clean displays of harsh electronics I've heard. There is a lot of changes, but not in a cut and paste sense, and the material is densely layered with total ear splitting highs, tons of other quality aspects and each track varies, moving this CD along very well and not turning all repetitive. Finishing out the last 2 tracks comes the Ohio bred Lockweld, allowing for the punishment to continue. Their material is filled with maniacal loops, rage inducing low-end destruction, and vengeful power tools and powerful yet laid back vokills. This material is truly a great spectacle of extreme devastation.

Lobotomatik a034
The Insider
(Tijuana Records)
Mixing elements of Jungle Beats, Techno and Atmospheric at times, mainly as a background.  The tracks vary from faster Break beat styles with a bit of a harder edge to laid back Jungle beats and synthes, to a slightly cinematic soundtrack feel. This isn't exactly the style of music I generally get into, but that's not to say that this isn't any good. I tend to prefer the harder tracks on this disc cause it lights something for me and I just click with those tracks. This is a very well rounded release and I think a lot of people will enjoy it.

Lockweld
Eutectic
(Groundfault)
One of many great projects hailing from the Ohio area and from what I gather that's about all there is there to keep interest. This is the nicest release, visually and audio wise, that I have heard from Lockweld. Groundfault did a great job on the layout and include good pictures of the sonic abusive duo.  Excellent quality and mix of soundscapes, power tools, harsh electronics and brutal display of vokills. Every track is dark and hideous in it's own right and well worth the time to hear over and over again.

Maldoror
She
(Ipecac)
Crazed vocals meet maniacal harsh electronics. The vocals are violently excreted from the likes of Mike Patton and accompanied by the super prolific noise artist, Masami Akita. This turns out to be a very unique and pleasurable release, consisting of crazed tantrums that bellow out with such urgency to a quieter state filled with echoes that tend to become rather soothing. I would definitely like to see these 2 well-respected artists come together once again, but only time will tell.

Merzbow
Pulse Demon
(Relapse | Release)
Here we have 8 tracks and 73 minutes of pure, unadulterated, hard-core electronic manipulation. This would have to be the loudest Merzbow I've heard. These power squeals and multi layered destruction shows that Masami Akita will be around for a long time.

Merzbow | Aural Torture Mechanism
(Fist Fight Records | Counter Attack)
To say that this is a slightly amazing release is an understatement.  These are two excellent projects that have come together for an outstanding display harsh experimental enjoyment.  Japanese veteran, Merzbow, lays down a 30 plus minute track, I believe from the 'Vereneology' era, of harsh scraping feedback, rhythmic pumping and skilled chaotic manipulation.  A.T.M. hails from the noiseless area Maryland, well as far as I know.  A 2 man project, one working the guitars and the other, electronics.  Heavy brooding, emotion provoking noises with lots of variation, which defiantly keeps my interest.  Thick, low end distorted tones layered with a bit of high-end static and feedback.  A very worthy release from Fistfight, which I believe, has since become Crucial Blast.

Merzbow
Aqua Necromancer
(Alien 8 Recordings)
This is an unexpected turn for Merzbow. This has been quoted as a more DJ friendly release. But, who the fuck cares?  It's fresh, and innovative, and it's still noise and experimental, shit, plus it's damn good at that! This release is flavored with the use of a drum machine to add a feeling of groove to the mix. It still rocks!

Merzbow
Tint 1&2
(Vinyl Communications)
This is a single release with 2 tracks, tint one / tint two. It's released through Vinyl Communications. These are 2 very solid tracks, and both very short, total time not much over 5 minutes. A brash sound collage that is short and sweet. This is very good.

Merzbow | Gore Beyond Necropsy
Presents: Rectal Anarchy
(Relapse | Release)
Wow and I do mean wow! 2 great entities team up to reek the most intense assault possible. The CD starts off with a 23 or so odd minute live track, which is incredible, and of course it's more improvisational than anything. The next 30 tracks are studio stuff. Everything sounds real distorted, the vocals, drums, guitars and bass. The majority of songs are short spastic blasts of grind with Merzbow providing maniacal noise mayhem as added texture. High shrills and pulses bleed free in this punk/ grind extraveganza

Mysakai Shit Itself
2 Concertos
Improvisational and choppy pieces preformed by Jordan Gray. Begins with popping static that destroy your eardrums and bring tears to your eyes that melt into a lo-fi cluster fuck of segmented samples. A great deal of start/stop editing that makes this so choppy. Comparable to the likes of Cock E.S.P. but a lot longer, at least with Cock E.S.P. they are in shorter installments.

Nuclear Pig Shit | Macronympha
(Hospital Productions)
This is a 2 disc, 3” CD-r collaboration with mixing and editing done by Megan of N.P.S.  Filled with a cut and paste feel, especially on the 1st disc, it tends to become a little repetious, from reusing sounds in different tracks. The sounds vary, skipping between harsh and edgy, to abrasive with low rumbling. Similar to Cock E.S.P., not as raw, the clarity is very good. The 2nd disc tends to take a step back from the first. Becoming more laid back over-tones mixed with rattling and clanking. There are still elements within the tracks that give it an edge, but more like accents. The 2 discs come in a, cut to size, gate-fold manila envelope with all the info printed on x-ray transparencies for the inserts, and the whole thing is enclosed in a folded sheet of x-ray.

Kevin J. o'Conner
Meditations on the Inescapable Self (2xcd)
Deep and hypnotic soundscapes that range from soul cleansing to soul reaping. This, at times, can sound eerie and great to play "creepy crawly" to with some unsuspecting neighbor, to a powerfully soft college. Filled with lots of whirling winds that surround you and accents of drones that whisper sweet murder.

Robert Rich
Trances/ Drones
(Relapse | Release)
Robert Rich makes remarkable music that lulls the listener to another plain or just so fucking relaxed.  The tones and waves fill your inner reaches and can contribute to quite a calming effect within. Hushed waves and delicate textures dating from 1981-83 that are being re-released from Release Entertainment still show great talent and splendor, capturing the essence of self reflection and being lost in contemplation.  There are moments where the sonic beauty turns to a darker feel with a slightly uneasy edge that open the listener's mind to subtle treachery and a dissociative state.

Sickness
Voyeurism
(Mp3-CD)
Here we have dense high-end tonal destruction and pleasant aural torture. Laced with guttural rumblings over-shadowed with squelch, signal bleeps, tweaks and other harsh signal calamity that are pushed to their limits. Loosely woven within this mish-mosh of harsh electronics are samples and mid-ranged frequencies along with some loops and screams thrown in for fun.

Torture Chorus
In the land of lullaby
Okay, okay, okay, okay, crack! Okay, this is your Saturday morning cartoon on Black Tar Heroin. Wacked out children songs that any one can sing along with, with the intention of annoying the fuck out of everyone. Personally I loved this; it reminds me of mommy, and what I should have done to her. Noisy, but mainly demented. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Tribes of Neurot
Grace
(Neurot  Recordings | Relapse | Release)
Composed as a multi- dimensional addition to be played along with the Neurosis Times of Grace. Grace adds texture, soundscapes and diversity along with deep feelings of destitution and pain. The CD can be listened to on it's own, as well, and is just as great. Dark, haunting and perfect in every aspect, Grace opens the doors to new ways of provoking imagery and personal reflection. Spoken samples of pain and spirituality along with brooding tones, synths, and different sound effects bring this release together and for years to come will be hard to surpass in greatness.
Bastard Noise | Christian Renou
Brainstroming
[Desolation House]
Exquisite design / layout for this collaboration between these powerhouses. The sounds upon this disc are no less. If you hate your ears or enjoy ringing for hours upon hearing a release then here is what you need. Ear wrenching high end tones and shrill hiss mixed with Woods new style of high end vocals are what greet you in the onslaught of this disc. The sounds are varied between ethereal and harsh pummeling electronics throughout ‘Brainstorming’ which consists of 6 tracks. The 3rd track, ‘Sodium Annethal’ sounds like a soundtrack for a movie, something with a title like “Night of the Locusts” very textured and dark. This is actually a great listen and worth picking up whenever you may get the chance.

Bastard Noise
Mutant
[Manufracture]
Fist and foremost, this is Not a tennitus friendly disc! The high end is so incredibly shrill and almost painful, Great! There are only 4 tracks, well worth it cause they tend to be lengthy.  3 of the tracks include vocals, both the high screams and the Power Violence style. Within the confines of the sounds, I am pleased to say that the sounds and structure of the tracks have a power filled urgency within.

Bastard Noise
RRRevenge
There is much turmoil and controversy that surrounds this release, some say cause it wasn’t harsh enough and others cause they aren’t Japanese, no matter to me what so ever, it still equals out to Bastard Noise creating experimental structures. There are 24 untitled tracks, 12 each disc and the 1st track is odd for the “skull”, with creeping waves of decay and tape starting /stopping glitch and the strangest part, fucking whispers! One word, Creeeepy. From the second track on, reintroduces us to the sounds of Bastard Noise, melting borderline harsh with signals that twinkle like a bloodies knife in the graveyard light. Upon these discs are shrill textures that budeon the ears. The sounds flow freely and never sound to be a forced effort. Flowing tonal soundscapes with fluttering electronic palpitations and distant murmurs that are raw and more up front than “Be Not True”

Bastard Noise
The Throne is Melting
[Helicopter]
Awe inspiring power. I am completely touched and speechless with this album, the sheer power interlaced with beauty and elegance of female vocals/spoken word is brilliant.  The tracks are from various releases but flow into one another well, blending harsh electronics with power violence vocalizations to almost spacey drone with a touch of Black Ambience. This is a full and solid release from “The Skull”.

Chasing Black Rainbows
The Beauty in Suffering
Raw, brooding and pain drenched Black Ambience that invoke powerful mournful emotions. Dark soundscapes enshrouded with eerie haunting textures make for an excellent release. The simple packaging doesn’t reflect what is in store for the listener.

Cock E.S.P.
Excessive Size Punisher
Excessive Size Punisher is a fresh slab of static and high frequency chaos. The depths of fury go way beyond past material I’ve heard, though most tracks are for those with a short attention span.  Not all the tracks are cut up work, but are precise and to the point and very abrasive.  The album consists of a good mix of new material and live tracks, 30 tracks in all, which makes this an enjoyable listen.

Electric Voodoo
Stayin Powers
[Tekito]
Not something I’d listen to a whole lot, but on occasion.  The complete vibes deriving  from a tribal aspect, not so much like Crash Worship, but of a shamanistic value.  Imagine a Polynesian village beating the shit out of drums and toms into a manic frenzy.  Free form percussion and electronics mix in with the maniacal drum circle or at times, stand alone, but only momentarily.

Flying Luttenbackers
Chaos, madness and drive is predominantly what I hear upon this release. There is a wide variety of sounds for the listener to enjoy, completely layered and at times making a dense wall of meticulous chaos.  The compositions come together very well but are reminiscent of Naked City material, not a blatant copy but extremely similar. I have owned this release for quite a while and find it not being listened to, cause for me, to satisfy the need for this style of noise I reach for Praxis “Transmutation” or Naked City.

Gruntsplatter
Chronicling the Famine
[Desolation House]
Aeons have passed since ‘The Death Fires’ has been released, and now unleashed upon us is ‘Chronicling the Famine’ which dwells deeper and darker than TDF. Gruntsplatter has waded deeper into the quagmire than what other P.E. projects have gone and show that it can be done with complete grace and tact. The complete disc flows from one track to the next ever so seamlessly and destroys any shred of happiness and positive thinking within. The decayed sounds move from crumbling tones and mild frequencies to scraping and mind gnawing/ numbing drone. Accents of higher tones fill in the gaps beautifully along with the tons of corrosive textures involved within each track. Darker and more desolate and growing more with each release as an artist.

Malpa
Primate Electronics
[pe is pro. 9]
Malpa is complete experimentation of sounds and has progressed quite a bit since his days with Contamination Diet.  9 tracks of Power Electronic mayhem that constructs a veil of mental deprivation with a touch of humor, hence the cover work.  The sounds are pulsating with low rumbles balanced out with higher end static and Death growls a soon becoming trademark.  A very worthwhile and solid release from this neanderthal of destruction.

Merzbow
Wheels of Fire (live @ 20000V)
I don’t know much about this release except for the slab of noise on this 1 sided 12" and the makeshift cover.  So if anyone collaborated, or not, probably someone other than I would know. What I can tell you is there is a dense wall of abrupt urgency spews forth from this slab of wax. The sounds are in vein of material from ‘Turomachine’ and ‘Pulse Demon’ which come across with blistering electronics blazing forth with acute accounts of shrill signals and pulses.

Muz
Banana in Portuguese
[Tekito]
I’m not sure what to say about this, except that there is nothing that grabs my attention, what so ever.  The tracks are clearly defined, have great quality and are very well textured. But there isn’t anything significant to me. Artsy, avante guard, abstract sound collages.

Never Presence Forever
Disturbed Visceral Nociception
[Crionic Mind]
Trickery is afoot with the clean, pristine and blinding brightness of the cover, not typical of P.E. or dark soundscape artists. Looking beyond the visual aspects I find refined elegance, grace, and sub sonic depressive arrangements that are completely varied. Never Presence Forever continues painting isolated imagery with a touch of abrasive backlashes, adding elements of conflict. Eloquent guitar structures melt with deep rumbling and bleeding into the next track, and each track complimenting the last. I have yet to be disappointed in the work from this artist and this album serves as a much needed staple to the Power Electronic / Dark Ambient movement.

Sound
Drunk on Confusion
[Tekito]
Goblin meets Pink Floyd from their Ummagumma days.  Eclectic compositions that stay true to experimental elements. Sound structures merged with well written musical pieces.  At times dreamy and somber, to abstract, quirky and campy.  Smooth transitions flow between the different elements, from the campy Bungle-like to the soothing ambient work to demented experimental expression. Sound is artsy not fartsy and makes for an interesting listen.

Tote Stadt | The Nautilus Deconstruction
CD-r split
[Radio Obsolete Recordings]
Decayed sound structures stretch out their darkened limbs and prey upon the listener with distorted synths and disharmonic soundscapes. Starting off you are greeted with harsh hiss and distorted beats with, either guitar or synth, moving into the next piece, which is more reminiscent of Tribes of Neurot.  The track is very trance like and the distortion is more texture than tearing away at the feel of the track. The material is well executed and continues with distorted tones and beats throughout all 5 of their cuts. Only the 2nd and last track are more laid back.  The final track is from The Nautical Deconstruction. Minimalist cut and paste running from manipulated vocals, a la Mike Patton’s ‘Adult Themes for Voice,’ but nothing extreme, to moderately harsh blasts. One listen to T.N.D. was enough.

Triage
The Cessation of Spoil
[Glass Throat Recordings]
Deeply moving and disturbing ethereal soundscapes. Low end tones and guttural rumbling interwoven with higher eerie tones that at times become very screechy and haunting, which keep the recording sounding full, but never too busy. Dismal sounds and visuals from the minds behind Gruntsplatter and Ruhr Hunter. Never once does any portion of this release falter or become uninteresting.

Umbra
Unclean Spirit
[The Rectrix]
Post apocalyptic sound decay that fills me with a sense of Impending Doom. War of The Worlds also comes to mind, especially with the 1st track, ‘Valley of Dry Bones.’ Decayed sounds that become very trance like and ethereal. This is by no means a new release, but just as important to P.E. as any other release. Completely unrelenting on every aspect and the sounds can become very emotionally draining. This is a completely Black release.

Unicorn | Man Is The Bastard Noise
Unicorn’s 1st track ‘Woofer’ starts the feel of this release with a laid back, mellow minimalist feel with a repetitious low frequency swell accompanied with minute synth notes, very low key.  The next track ‘anglo-7 and the Los Angeles four’ builds a little with looped beats that are slightly distorted, a chirpy sounding synth with samples bleeding through as if by CB transmission. ‘Kelbaker Road’ is extremely sothing and reflective with a simplistic 4 notes played in repetition and buried deep are distant high end squeals and signal squelch. Returning to more subdued sounds ‘Held captive by the white hand’ has a constant light knock or pulse that gives me visions of someone underwater, trapped in a box. There is a faint but constant hiss and the occasional “wake up blast” to keep you from getting too comfy in the rhythmic hits and hiss.  ‘Report from Behind Enemy Lines’ is the final track from Unicorn and plays more with signal manipulation, nothing ear pummeling but a lot of decayed signals both low and high end. Clocking Man is the Bastard Noise, ‘ Nine Moons {phoebe titan}’ at 1 pulse beat above comatose, we hear the captivating sound of a planets journey through space, encompassing the sun. With a slow build, turns to deep terror shrieks, embedding discomfort within the listener. Superbly controlled chaos fire through the deep, low rumbles that serve for the solid foundation of this epic track.

Vas Deferens Organization
Drug Bubbles
[Tekito]
Avant-garde compositions that resemble the works of Praxis and 3 Secret Chiefs, but without the funk or carnival aspects.  There are 3 tracks and each are divided into segmented parts, with the 1st in 6 parts and the last two in 7 parts each.  With time this disc could grow on me cause the musicianship is immaculate, with foreboding synths and eerie undertones mixed with bass, guitar, drums and percussions.  The overall feel for the disc is laid back and easy to take in, yet weaving in and out of unsettling moments.  This is something that would fit within the confines of Bananafish magazine.
