The Seminole Bromeliad & Tropical Plant Society is an affiliate of the Bromeliad Society International
and of the
Florida Council of Bromeliad Societies. It is a circle of the
Sanford Garden Club and thus affiliated with the Florida Federation of
Garden Clubs.
SBTPS is a membership based fellowship of Bromeliad & Tropical Plant enthusiasts
that promote and develop public awareness of the diverse plant
family Bromeliaceae (Bromeliads). We share and exchange information
concerning the culture, identification and hybridization of bromeliads. In
acknowledging our members parallel gardening interests and affiliations we
also promote many other Tropical Plant families that can be grown in our
transitional temperature zone.

MEETING INFORMATION
Our society meets the third Sunday of the month, 2PM at
the Sanford Garden Club, unless we have scheduled a special event or field
trip. Please see our

Fairmont Drive, in Sanford, FL, one block south of Lake Mary Boulevard.

spent with us at the 15 June meeting. Eric gave a highly informative slide presentation on
the widely varied tropicals grown at Leu
Gardens.

07/20 George Aldrich of Plants ‘n’ Things Nursery in Ocala,
and member of our society, will provide our program. George and
Irene Aldrich have been actively involved in the bromeliad community for
many years. Both are Accredited Judges. In years past George had shown many
award winning plants in judged shows. They traveled farther a field to
attend sales events. Having collected from multiple and varied sources,
their collection is extensive and varied among many genera, species and
hybrid. They have many plants not commonly found in other collections.
George can also lay claim to field collecting experience, currently growing
offspring plants from his trip to Peru.
