2008

3 april - Spring is in the air, and dancing is in Torrance! Teaching by Giovanni De Amici with music by W.E.D.O. (Mary, Noble and friends)
1 may - It's Mayday; morris teams all over the world have danced to rise the Sun, and insure crops and wll being for the next year. That's their job.
Our job is to help the Sun go to sleep tonight, by dancing at sunset. The music of Interfolk (Kriss Larson and friends) graces an evening of appropriately-themed dances, taught by Giovanni De Amici.
     location: Torrance

5 june - W.E.D.O. are back for this spring-summer dance. Teaching by Giovanni De Amici.
It all happens in      Torrance

Musicians willing to play for a dance are always welcome; it is reccomended that prior arrangements be made with SB*ECD (call: 310 793 7499, or e-mail: sbecd1"at"yahoo"dot"it), to avoid scheduling conflicts.
I used to have a link to the address, but it was harvested by spammers: just copy the address above in your mail client, then replace the "at" and "dot" monikers with the usual "@" and "." characters. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Other CDC-affiliated dances

A new ECD group is starting up in the West Side. They dance in Culver City on second and fourth sundays, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Locations change; call for details before heading out. Great live music every time. For direction and information call Annie Laskey at 310 837 3427 (no web page).

For more info call 677 3978, or 880 2023 (in the 909 area code), or check the web page.

The local chapter of the SCA, in cooperation with the RSCDS organizes occasional informal dance classes at random intervals and frequency. Location is Monrovia. Music is recorded. For more info call Marsden Macrae at 310 391 3052 or email: mmacrae "at" earthlink "dot" net.

No web page, to the best of my knowledge: send him an email and ask to be put on the mailing list. Updates are send about twice a month.
