In the Philippines, keeping bees is gaining popularity. It can be a hobby, a sideline operation or a  full-time activity. Practiced by millions around the world, it is a relatively expensive and exhaustive vocation.
There are two considerations to weigh before committing yourself to beekeeping: the bee sting and your back.
Bee sting hurts followed by a short period of discomfort and swelling at the site of the sting which is normal.
But for others,  hives, itching in areas of the body remote from the sting and shortness of breath are abnormal and a cause for concern.
If you can endure the sting and some heavy lifting then you can become a beekeeper.
