King's Chapel
Memorial C.M.E. Church
Cemetery
Arena Road
Perry, Georgia

The following is a partial survey of King's Chapel Cemetery. This cemetery
is located on Arena Road, across from Kings Chapel Road, in Perry, GA. The
land it is on was once part of the John R. KING plantation. Many of the
original members were freed slaves of the King Plantation. It is a
maintained church cemetery of approximately 150 graves. While most are
clean and free of debris, there is one section that is overgorwn and the
graves are difficult to identify and read. Markers commonly found in this
cemetery are upright headstones, footstones, and flat markers flushed with
the ground. Many of the markers are composed of concrete. Some artwork
includes flowers and fraternal symbols. The date the current church
building was dedicated was 25 September 1977. This survey was conducted by
Stephanie Lincecum for the Houston County, Georgia American History
and Genealogy Project

If you have any information to add regarding this cemetery or the
individuals buried there, please email Stephanie.

Please check back often as I will be adding to this survey whenever possible.
