The Roman Makeover
The Clothed Body in the Ancient World
Milton Keynes, January 2002
Heather and I recently demonstrated the Roman Makeover at this international conference organised by the Open University. (Click here for more on the conference from the organiser's website).

This gave me the opportunity to work through my ideas and the reconstructed cosmetics under the scrutiny of a very well informed group of experts on adornment in the Classical World. The feedback and contacts resulting from this session have already proved invaluable in allowing me to take my research to the next level. I thought it might be nice to share a few of the photos taken at that session with you.
Return to the Roman Makeover
Sally and Heather, having just completed the makeover.
Romans, Romans everywhere...
A little time travelling was in order to enable this photo of us with Dan Shadrake from
History Today to be taken.
As with any of the demonstrations, Heather is on hand afterwards to discuss the make-up she models with conference delegates.

They also have the chance to explore the various potions for themselves and ask any extra questions (we got
lots of extra questions on this occasion!)
