    Do you like to sing?    Join the Washington Sängerbund!

    Rehearsals every Friday at 7:00pm with conductor David Montgomery.
    We are on vacation right now. Fall rehearsals to start on August 28, 2009.
    Location: Concord Clubhouse, 2434 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC (Old Europe Restaurant 2nd floor).

    The Washington Sängerbund performed a joint concert with the
    National Gallery of Art Vocal Arts Ensemble and Resident Gallery Musicians.

    Concert Saturday, July 18, 2009 - 11am to 4pm
    The Washington Sängerbund will participate with the Arion Gesangverein of Baltimore in the 50th Anniversary of the launching of the first nuclear merchant ship SAVANNAH, on board the Savannah in Baltimore Harbor.

    Oktoberfest Saturday, September 26, 2009, 11:00am - 6:00pm - Oktoberfest in Lovettsville, VA.
    Held in downtown Lovettsville, Virginia, located off Route 287 (Berlin Pike) in Loudoun County.
    Music and dancing throughout the afternoon. Delicious German food like Bratwurst, Knockwurst, Sauerkraut, etc. served by the Washington Sängerbund. You can find us right in front of the big Oktoberfest tent. Music and dancing throughout the afternoon.

    Oktoberfest Saturday, October 3, 2009, noon - 6pm
    Oktoberfest of the Mid Atlantic Brewers Association in Shirlington, VA

    (outside the Capitol City Brewing Company), click for MAP .
    The Washington Sängerbund will serve tasty grilled bratwurst and other German food to accompany the local brew. Afternoon entertainment with band music and dancers in the plaza.

    Saturday, November 1, 2009, 2:00 pm
    Singing at memorial service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 2201 North Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002.

    The cemetery is a designated historical landmark and is the burial site of many prominent German-Americans, including the first president of the Washington Sängerbund, Julius Viedt.

    Concert Sunday, November 15, 2009, 5pm - Fall Concert ‘Mostly Mendelssohn’
    Held at the elegant Fairfax Ballroom, 9001 Fairfax Blvd., Fairfax,Va. 22031.
    The Washington Sängerbund will be accompanied by members of the Prince William Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor David Montgomery.

    Concert
    Friday, December 4, 2009 - Christmas at the Brewmaster's Castle.
    At the Heurich Mansion the Washington Sängerbund will perform German Christmas carols and lead a sing-along with familiar Christmas songs. Performing at 7 and at 8 pm. Doors open at 6:00pm for tours of the mansion. Refreshments. Suggested donation of $10 to support the Brewmaster's Castle, 1307 New Hampshire Ave, NW, Washington, DC (one block from Dupont Circle Metro station)

    Founded in 1851, the Washington Sängerbund is the Washington, DC, area's oldest German organization. The German singing society performs concerts of German music in the Washington, DC area.

    In addition to our concerts, we traditionally hold other large annual events. On a Saturday (Faschings Samstag) in Spring, our Faschingsball (Mardi Gras Ball) draws hundreds of visitors to the elegant, large ballroom in Fairfax, where delicious German food and beverages are available, costume prizes are awarded and we dance for hours to great live music!

    Bier Stein In September and October you can find us selling authentic, delicious, German sausages and beer at several area Oktoberfests. Check our schedule here at our web site for the latest details, or ask to be put on our WSB mailing list (See above).
