| The Detroit River Star fleet is the oldest Fleet in the 4th (Great Lakes) District of the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association. The Detroit River Fleet was formed in 1921 and was active until the mid 1950s when activity ceased. In 1985 it was reactivated by Marty Calabrese, Rollie Vortriede and Tom White. Today most of the boats sail out of Crescent Sail Yacht Club (CSYC) on Lake Saint Clair. Major race series for 2008 Include the The Michigan State Championship Regatta, The CSYC Regatta, and The Icebreaker Regatta, as well as the Fleet Championship Series and Crescent's Sunday Series. |
