Fishing Creek is a very popular Limestone stream located in Northcentral Pennsylvania. The stream is fed by many limestone springs and tributary streams along its entire length keeping the water cool even in the hottest summer months. Because of this, Fishing Creek holds a large population of wild brown and brook trout. At first glance, the stream resembles more of a freestone stream with its alternating pools and riffles over a rocky stream bed.
"The Narrows" is probably the most popular stretch of this stream. This a 5 mile stretch that is under Trophy Trout Regulations. This stretch runs along SR 2004 starting at the Lamar Hatchery and extends upstream to the Tylersville fish hatchery grounds. Access is available at numerous pull off areas along SR 2004. The lower part of this stretch is owned by the Pennsylvania Fish Commision, and the upper section is owned by private land owners. The lower area is open for fishing on every day EXCEPT Sunday.
