Hello and welcome to the online home of Roving Sweetheart Rats. We are a modest
rattery, located in suburban Melbourne, Australia. Our rattery was born out of an honest
ten-year love for rattus norvegicus, and we continue to base our methods and long-term goals
on the principle of "healthy, happy Fancy Rats."
Our lines are sourced from some of the best breeders in Australia, and enhanced by some very special
non-breeder rats. Although we attend shows, and enjoy seeing our crew win when they do, our focus is not on perfectly
marked or coloured rats. All our dams and sires are chosen first and foremost for their exceptional
personality, gentle natures and good health ... because we believe that rats are companion animals.
This means that RS is able to confidently offer puppies for adoption to first-time owners, children
and those who already have a co-habiting ratty family. Our pups are handled from 7 days after birth,
meaning that they are used to human touch before their eyes are even open.

It is with both regret and excitement that we announce that Roving Sweetheart Rats will no longer be operating alone. We have entered into a partnership with another enthusiastic breeder who shares our dedication to breeding happy, healthy Fancy Rats. We are currently seeking registration as a new rattery with the Australian Rat Fancier's Society, to ensure that previous Roving Sweethearts rat owners can continue to adopt rats from us with complete confidence. We are sad to see the end of an era here at Roving Sweethearts, and yet delighted to think of what we can accomplish in partnership. Updates on the new rattery will follow soon.
