Robert S. Pesich was born and raised in San Jose, California, of Serbian parents. His father escaped Yugoslavia in 1955. His mother left for California in 1965. He received his B.S. in Genetics from the University of California, Davis. He now works as a research assistant in the Department of Genetics at Stanford University. He is a poetry editor for The Montserrat Review.
