Let's start where I started. This is a 1987 Formula 350. It needed a little attention! The beautiful black bird was painted an ugly purple and the frontend was replaced with Trans Am fenders. The clear coat on the rims was coming off SLOWLY!
![]() |
After a few baseline runs at the track (drag). Its time to paint. And to let you know I had drawn up this paint scheme way before I found my bird. Most people say.."ITS DEFINENTLY DIFFERENT" The idea was to be able to see a Pontiac symbol from the front or the back, with a little tribal flare on the sides without being to goddy..... Then I found a set of WS6 rims for a real steal and I had to get them to match the paint.

sorry two different dig. cameras, the hood shot is the best for the real color of the red
Next was the engine compartment. BIG CLEAN UP 1. got rid of the a/c 2. got rid of the smog 3. did a throtle body by pass 4. got rid of the windshield washer fluid container 5. Replaced the stock air intake with one of my own creation
Cold Air intake in two stages A. was a 91 Firebird TPI Throtle body to MAF sensor RUBBER tube. to replace the rubber and plastic combo the factory used. And a honda Civic CAI by APC and modified by me... B. The next stage and still curent setup is a 3" mandrel bent 90' tube to replace the 91 firebird piece. I clamped the whole setup with a few stainless ones from Home depot Toped off with a new 1000cfm K&N
I will try and go in order here: The baseline was a huge disapointment 16.1 @ 92mph WHAT THE HELL A 30 minutes with a hack saw and a piece of 3" pipe and a week later fixed that. 14.8 @ 96mph MUUUUCCHHHH BETTER Next was a Exhaust Upgrade Flowmaster American Thunder II Stainless version, and Spohn Frameties were also welded into the bird gain of around .2 tenths Then to top off the exhaust with a set of Stainless SLP 1.75 headers With a little more fuel added via the computer modification, the car was now running high 13s to 14.0 (Tractionlimited) and then a Nitrous Oxide System from NOS 100 shot was in for a year resulting in a 13 flat average E.T moved up to a 150 shot and have pulled of mid 12 passes with major traction issues Faith in the poor old factory assembled 700R4 auto is keeping me from useing slicks...just yet

This was the 2003 Pontiac Nationals The 2nd Gen's 400wbp might of taken me without the sweet bottle
A car show in Bucyrus Ohio, there are always a great crowd and great cars...
With the mods I had done. I was running average of 13.04 at 108 mph. Great times for a 3000 dollar investment.
The interior of the bird has changed quite a bit. The door panels are now black leather. The seats are now Porshe black leather out of a 914. A 99 Camero center console Sorry no new pictures of it but I am also working on putting in a 10pt cage
